• María

María is a video installation using two customized displays. One shows images of a confrontation between a civilian boat of Colombian origin and a U.S. Coast Guard vessel in international waters in 1982. The other shows a transcription of the dialogue between the boats' captains.

As the viewer wanders through the space, he discovers that the images only become visible if he is standing against the light. Right at that moment he recognizes that the light has two functions: to blind the observer, forcing him to cover from the powerful light, and to activate the images shown on the translucent screens.
